The downside to blogging is going to share with your readers a good deal and then deciding to buy them for yourself! Poor me! :)
Everyone has their resolutions for the New Year and of course- that means there are deals to be had in areas like fitness. I have been curious about the Shape Ups and have watched their prices at the Skecher's Outlet near our house and in the circulars plus online for awhile.
I got a Skechers deal today to share with you when I remembered seeing another blurb about a Shape Ups deal on another website. I'm going to share both but I'm also going to walk you through how I shop. I'm often asked how I shop online and get the great deals and discounts. This is a great time to show you how.
I got an email from Redplum about a 25% code off Reebok and Skechers Toners at Shoes.com using the code: TONE25 good through 1/17 CST. I went to the site and found a pair I thought was a deal- the Shape Up Linear in Hot Pink/Black were $59.99 with free shipping after the code. Regularly $109.00.
I remembered hearing about Shape Ups for $39.99 at www.6pm.com. I checked out the site, had heard good reviews and put a pair I liked in my cart. They had several different styles at that price. They would be $46.90 shipped saving me over $50.00. BUT before I bought, I went to www.retailmenot.com and searched for codes for www.6pm.com. Couldn't find anything so I did a wide search for "6pm.com coupon codes" but didn't find any codes. That's when I decided I was happy with the price, shoes and ready to purchase.
Either deals at either site are great. Here are my tips when shopping online:
1. Keep emails that may pertain to something you are interested in. I wasn't in the market for shoes but had done my research and ready to purchase if I found a price I liked.
2. Never go with the first deal you find unless you are 100% that it's the rock bottom for the time you are making the purchase. Check a couple more sites like Amazon, Shoes.com or other sites relevant to the item you are purchasing just to double check your findings.
3. If the sale, code or need for the item isn't time sensitive then walk away from the website leaving the item in your cart. I've often had companies send me an email with a code for a % off or free shipping if I will come back and complete my order.
4. ALWAYS search for a code and see if it will work. A little more off, free shipping or a shipping upgrade will sweeten a purchase you are going to make anyway.
5. Finally, make sure you have an email folder for your purchases so you can track and follow the shipping procedure. Make sure also you understand the return policy and what it entails before you buy.
Retailmenot.com is a great site and a favorite of mine. Her banner is always running on the right side with the best and most popular online deals going on right now! Always make sure you check her out when shopping online!
